Is this hip-hop revering instrumental trio BADBADNOTGOOD’s take on TRAP music? I think so. Fresh off a successful 2013 marked by production contributions to Danny Brown’s Old, and Earl Sweatshirt’s Doris, expect a new album, III, due out May, 6th.
Following up last year’s Alpha Dog, Great Dane is back with his latest LP, Beta Cat. Expect the dark and tough TRAP sounds you associate with Mr. Carmack and the rest of Team Supreme, in addition to a few surprisingly lounge-y tracks, “Blue & Green”, “Peaches (Interlude)” and “Down ft. King Henry”. Stream the whole EP below.
That album art though? Lakim, part of the storied Soulection roster, unleashes his latest LP, filled with lush and dreamy synth-scapes backed by that trendy 808-production stuff. This Is Her, definitely has its share of variety though, like the bouncy summer jam featured up top, “Thinkin Bout (Doin U)”. Stream the rest of the LP below.
AGO, the collection of Michigan rappers and producers that includes Sango, Waldo, The SEVENth, Joose, and Famos AME, released two new Sango produced cuts, Waldo’s “Royal Oats” and Joose’s “Reggie Miller”. Expect AGO’s first full length release Tuebor, next Tuesday (2/4).
New Zealand producer let loose two new free loosies this week, reworkings of the oft remixed single “She” from Laura Mvula and Drake’s “Addicted”.
To be completely honest this D.R.U.G.S. produced cut off last years’ Life Changes by rapper Casey Veggies is not my favorite. However the free album as a whole, including the previously featured cut “She In My Car ft. Dom Kennedy”, is definitely worth your time.
The Australian five-piece Foreign/National’s debut EP is expected sometime this April featuring this funky new single, “All Honesty”, and the incredibly catchy “Paris”. Check out “Paris” and download their Demos collection, below.
